Nickelodeon amps up screen and shelf time in Indonesia

Teenage Mutant Ninja TurtlesViacom International Media Networks’ Asia division has renewed Nickelodeon’s exclusive branded block package for another three years with free-to-air Indonesian broadcaster Global TV.

Global TV, a subsidiary of MNC Media, will continue to air Nickelodeon properties like SpongeBob Square Pants, Dora the Explorer, Go, Diego, Go!, Avatar, The Legend of Aang and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. The deal also appoints another MNC Media subsidiary, MNC Licensing, as the new consumer products licensing agent of Nick properties in Indonesia.

Nickelodeon first broke ground in Indonesia as the first international kids’ brand to enter the local market with a branded block offering.

The 11-year collaboration between VIMN and Global TV has churned out a number of initiatives, namely Indonesia’s first Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards in 2008, which will run its sixth consecutive year on Global TV this year.[]
