Salt factory in NTTJakarta — Indonesia has the potential to start to export salt in 2013 after its domestic consumption demand was met last year, local media reported Wednesday.

He said the self-sufficiency of salt for consumption in 2012 has been long-awaited since 1960s.

According to data from the ministry, salt production in 2012 reached 2.9 million tons and domestic consumption per year reached 1.4 million tons in second half of 2012 and first half of 2013.[]
